Donate to LitNet

LitNet relies on the generosity of individual donors and support from local businesses and foundations to carry out its mission.  We receive no state or federal funding.   We accomplish a great deal on a very tight budget.  Money invested in LitNet is carefully allocated to get the most value for the dollar and to help the greatest number of students.  Please send your check for a tax-deductible donation of any amount, to help others improve their own lives, to LitNet at 100 Main Street, Lee MA 01238

Help Us Find Students

Do you know of someone who could benefit from our services?  We are here to help.  Please give us a call.  We would be happy to answer any questions you have and set up an appointment.  We know is unlikely that individuals who need us are reading this message, so we ask that you spread the word.

Become A Tutor

Our tutors come from all walks of life.    Some tutors have prior teaching experience, others do not.  There is no need to have any expertise in any language except English.   Training is provided in 3 sessions with ongoing support to help the tutor meet the needs and goals of the student.  Tutoring takes place weekly, on a schedule convenient for both tutor and student, in many different locations throughout the county.

Are you wondering if you have what it takes to be a LitNet tutor?  Ask yourself these questions:

  • Are you 18 years of age or older?
  • Have you graduated from high school?
  • Do you have 1 1/2  to 2 hours a week to volunteer?  Do you think you can make this commitment for about a year?
  • Do you want to learn new skills?
  • Do you have the patience that it takes to help a student learn a new concept?  And for the inevitable setback?
  • Do you have good hearing?
  • Would you like to get to know someone who may have a different background than you?
  • Do you want to make a difference in someone's life, and feel good about yourself at the same time?

If you answered yes to these questions, please contact us.  We will be happy to answer any questions that you have. Write us at info@litnetsb.org, or call 413-243-0471
