LitNet’s Birthday Program 2026

In 2026, LitNet is celebrating its 35th birthday!

We want to invite you to join us in celebrating and supporting LitNet.

We are kicking off a Happy Birthday Program encouraging our supporters to consider suggesting donations to LitNet on their birthdays, if they are so inclined.

Donate $35 on 3/5!

Celebrating Your Birthday With Friends and Family from Afar

Not having a birthday party? Would you prefer that friends and family not go through the hassle of sending you gifts? Direct your birthday gifts to LitNet and provide your community with a giving back experience!

How it works…

LitNet can provide beautiful cards (made by a LitNet learner artist) to send to your friends and family ahead of your birthday to let them know that this year you are directing your gifts to LitNet.

We will work with you to gather the names and addresses of the folks you would like to send birthday cards, ones that share your plans to give back for your birthday!

Inside the cards will read, “This year for my birthday, I would like to support the Literacy Network. Will you join me?” There will be a small blurb about LitNet and a QR Code to LitNet’s Birthday Program Donation page on our website. Donations can be made there.

Host a Party

Will you be having an in-person birthday bash in 2026? Here is what LitNet can offer you:

  • A LitNet info display at the event
  • LitNet swag for your guests
  • The option to have a mini-presentation about LitNet (OR) a LitNet led trivia game focused on international and citizenship related content.

Gifts in your honor can be sent to LitNet ahead of time. At the event we can provide a QR Code to display and/or donation envelopes.

Happy Birthday to You & LitNet!

Since 1991, LitNet has been growing stronger and maturing to meet the needs of the community we serve. At 35, we are wiser than ever but have many years ahead of us to continue to meet the needs of the adult learners we serve. We could not do it with you!

Val’s Birthday!

In 2025, LitNet tutor and supporter, Val Coleman, celebrated her 65th birthday with her friends. She stated NO GIFTS, but proposed that if people wanted to, they could donate to LitNet in her honor.

At the party, her guests’ name tags shared their familial origins, celebrating the idea that most of us (our families) came here from somewhere.

LitNet accrued $1,200 in honor of Val for her birthday! Thank you, Val!
