Why LitNet's mission matters or why it resonates with me:

Supporting a nonprofit promoting the dignity, opportunity and potential of people facing challenges is one way our family feels we can contribute to our community. While all of LitNet’s programs aim to achieve that goal, the new mission to support First Generation students through the college application process is strategic planning at its best. LitNet asks: “How else can we help our clients move forward and be successful?” This is why I am proud to join the Board of Directors.

Biography:

My law career was atypical. After a stint as a traditional associate, I worked for a firm that strictly provided research services for other attorneys. That morphed into almost 20 years of writing legal treatise material for major publications. Our family had a second home here for many years and, after retiring, my husband and I moved to the Berkshires permanently. I have served on several nonprofit boards relating to at-risk and underserved populations and social justice issues and I am a certified trainer in Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Resolution. Music is an integral part of my life. I have sung with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and Berkshire Opera, as well as opera companies in Connecticut. Currently I am singing with the Berkshire Hills Chorus (with two other Board members), Berkshire Lyric, and the Threshold Choir. I am also a Hospice volunteer.
