Why LitNet's mission matters or why it resonates with me:
As a former Speech Pathologist, my area of interest has always been good communication. If a person is struggling to read, speak, and understand the world around them, I am drawn to helping that person.
Biography:
I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from George Washington University. I mostly worked with head injured adults in a post acute setting. When my children were young, we had the opportunity to move overseas for my husband’s job. At that point, I became a full time stay at home mom. We lived in 4 countries and stayed overseas for 15 years. During that time, I volunteered with several organizations but mostly at my children’s schools. However, more importantly I gained a deep appreciation of the challenges of every day life in a country where I didn’t speak the language.
In 2012, my husband retired and we moved to the Berkshires for chapter 2. Together, we own and manage several rental and commercial properties. Throughout my life, I have also sung in many choruses and choirs. I am currently singing with the Berkshire Hills Chorus and am the President of the Chorus.
