September Newsletter 2024

In planning an event, one can have a vision that sometimes plays itself out in reality or sometimes fails due to random circumstances. Last year’s annual celebration was by no means a failure, but we had extreme humidity and a thunderstorm to dampen (quite literally!) our spirits. This year, however, our event surpassed our hopes in every way! From the amazing Berkshire weather to the beauty and capacity of the setting. From the graciousness and professionalism of our hosts to the warmth and generous spirit of our guests. People truly showed up to share their love and support of LitNet. I am still smiling from the energy of our amazing guests!

Kudos to our honoree, our beloved Board Member John Toole, who brought a crowd and whose humble words highlighted our reason for being together that night: to support the important work the small but mighty LitNet team does on a day to day basis and for what we do to support immigrants in the community who are working so hard to get ahead.

We are so grateful for everyone who showed up on Friday. And we’re extra grateful to those who “stood up for LitNet” by raising their paddles. It was a successful fundraiser; more importantly, it reinforced the strength of our community.

Thank you for warming our hearts and believing in what we do. I always say it, and I always mean it–we can’t do what we do without you.
