September Newsletter 2025

October 27, 2025

We are less than three weeks out from our annual celebration, Generation to Generation: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future. This is LitNet’s biggest fundraiser of the year, so it’s all hands on deck in the LitNet office preparing for what will be a great party, while still maintaining our day-to-day activities that keep LitNet running.

Did you know that our event will feature authentic Colombian food cooked and catered by Miguel Gomez of La Fogata Restaurant in Pittsfield? I mention this not only because his empanadas are to die for (as the Colombian in the LitNet office, our Miguel, will attest), but because having Miguel cater our event ties together our theme, Generation to Generation, in such a beautiful way. The La Fogata menu features some of his family’s classic Colombian dishes. Furthermore, before opening his restaurant, Miguel worked for many years at Guido’s, the family business of the Masieros, our event honorees.

What better way to celebrate the impact of LitNet’s work of welcoming and embracing immigrants in our community than by highlighting the legacy of food and the ways it ties us together, neighbor to neighbor?

We look forward to celebrating with many of you on October 18. If you have not bought tickets yet, a limited number of tickets are still available! And for those of you who will not be attending, we look forward to the many ways you continue to support our vision of creating a more welcoming, literate, and engaged Berkshire community.
