It’s hot. It’s summer. As I mentioned in my last letter, things are bustling. Below you’ll see a quick recap of some of the exciting events LitNet has been involved in lately–and there’s still much more to come!
On another note, the angst many people have been feeling lately has benefitted LitNet in a surprising way–we have had an influx of new tutors!! The impact of current times in our immigrant community, nationally and here in Berkshire County has people upset. Local residents want to do something to make the world a bit better, a bit more hopeful. Our growing number of volunteer tutors means that we hardly have a waitlist now! This is amazing news! With our new volunteers, we have been able to pair learners with tutors, and we currently have a total of about 220 active tutor-learner pairs. THANK YOU, dear community! Thank you to those who have been helping to recruit new volunteers. Thank you to those who seek to help our immigrant neighbors who are working hard to make their lives better for themselves and their families. You are doing something. And it matters. A lot.
