As of this writing, LitNet has 222 current learners (and we have served 292 so far this year) and 182 active tutors. The need for free and flexible educational support, particularly among immigrants seeking to improve their English, remains high in Berkshire County, and LitNet works hard to keep the activity going.
Our ongoing class for Kripalu staff is switching hands–volunteer tutor Mayra Rodriguez will take over for Terri Handler (thanks, Terri!). We’re proud to partner with our local businesses to support immigrant employees. Tutor Elaine Sohn is starting a LitNet learner book club for intermediate and advanced English speakers. And, as you’ll see in our announcements below, we’re once again showcasing five LitNet learners (and one tutor!) in this weekend’s storytelling performance.
We’re thrilled by the hard work and dedication of our learners and tutors and the various ways LitNet activity is going beyond 1:1 tutoring. So much good learning is happening, and we’re glad that you’re a part of it!
