Why LitNet's mission matters or why it resonates with me:
I have long known and witnessed the power of language, so to work with LitNet–an organization that understands this and supports tutors to implement its goal of English language literacy–has added another layer of purpose to my life. Undoubtedly, I have gained as much as I have given from interacting with the well-deserving population of LitNet learners.
Biography:
Jeanne Lemlin is the James Beard award winning author of five cookbooks and numerous articles in Gourmet, Cooking Light, Yankee, and Country Journal magazines and a former cooking instructor at the New School Cooking Center in Manhattan. After immersing herself in the world of food for over 25 years, she became a high school English teacher and shared her love of literature and language and was awarded teacher of the year her school’s district. Tutoring and conducting teaching workshops for LitNet has been a natural fit for Jeanne since she wants to supporting our organization in every way she can.
