It’s back-to-school time. As the summer buzz begins to slow, learners and tutors who took a hiatus over the summer are beginning to return to regular sessions. To get back into the spirit of learning, LitNet has been strengthening its presence in the community: we hosted three info tables at various events over the past weekend to spread word of our services and recruit tutors. We are also excited to announce that we will be opening a satellite office in Pittsfield at Volunteers in Medicine! Currently, over 50% of LitNet learners live in Pittsfield. Our new office, which will be open just part-time to begin with, will help us have a stronger presence where the biggest need is and aid us in our efforts to recruit more tutors in the Pittsfield region.
As we expand our geographical range and continue to evolve our programming, it’s nice to remember how LitNet started. This month, we revisit a perennial favorite story about LitNet’s longest-running tutor-learner pair, brought to you courtesy of a former LitNet board member.
