LitNet has opened a second location at 137 North St. in Pittsfield’s Crawford Square, adding roughly 1,500 square feet while keeping its original offices in Lee. The organization has spent 35 years helping adult learners, mainly immigrants, build English and literacy skills, and the new space serves as a public tutoring hub for Central Berkshire with rooms for one-on-one sessions, classes, workshops, and a place to read and study. The larger location allows for expanded evening and weekend hours and better outreach to Northern Berkshire County. LitNet serves about 230 active adult learners with another 30 on a waitlist, and is recruiting volunteer tutors for one to two hours a week, with no teaching experience or second language required.
