Our part of the world has undergone a green transformation in the past month. If you spend the winter here, you know how good it feels! I hope you’ve had time to get out and enjoy this flower-filled spring we’ve been having. This season of lush abundance is a great reminder of how lucky we are to live where we do.
When our learners talk about why they love being a resident of the Berkshires, they often note their love for the natural landscape. They talk about spending their first summer here, how stunned they were by the green beauty. (Winter is another story.) Another reason they choose to live here is because of the ample work opportunities in the service and hospitality industries that abound during the summer months. As we come up on our region’s busy season, our immigrant learners are working hard to bring their English skills to the next level so that they can unlock promotions, raises, and new opportunities. They help our local businesses run smoothly so that our community can continue to bustle with activity, and they need our support!
