Why LitNet's mission matters or why it resonates with me:
I believe that language is the primary key that opens the door to opportunity. By volunteering at LitNet, I have a firsthand chance to help provide options for our learners’ futures. It is a joy and pleasure to tutor our learners and hope to offer some possibilities for their futures.
Biography:
I have been interested in language learning from a young age, when I first studied Spanish and French in school, which led me to earn my B.A. in Romance Languages. My first career was as a Spanish teacher in Los Angeles and New York City, and I went on to pursue my Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology.
I proceeded to serve in senior administrative roles at various New York City independent schools. My culminating professional role was as Associate Director for Professional Learning at the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) where I planned and executed in-person and online professional development programs for teachers and administrators across the state.
After 40 years of residing in New York City, I am now retired and living in Lee. I enjoy traveling, as well as a quieter life in the Berkshires, and all the cultural events that are offered in this fabulous region.
