Our ESOL tutoring program continues to march along, with 240 learners currently learning English with a LitNet tutor! As our core program stays strong and steady, our supplemental classes and other programs are increasingly active. Here are a few highlights:
- Our Language of Business, an advanced English class that focuses on language skills necessary for working in the business field, has eight students. One student said the instructors, LitNet tutors Brian and David, were “amazing” and that “their experience and encouragement makes the experience truly special.”
- Currently six LitNet learners are taking LitNet’s storytelling class with story coach Sheela Clary and are in the process of shaping the narratives they will share at The Mount on August 9.
- LitNet has two first-generation college students paired with LitNet tutors who are guiding them through the college application process. We recently awarded our inaugural First-Gen Scholarship to a student who was accepted to college!
- LitNet’s Book Club has a core group of six readers who have just embarked on their third book together.
